Great watch

I purchased the full-lume version of the 38mm Atlas in December of 2013 with the Khaki cordura band (old enough that the sceond hand's dot and tip are white). The band made it all of 1 month before the pleather liner disintegrated, but the watch itself has been phenomenal. In the almost 9 years I've had it it has traveled overseas with me, been there for the birth of my kids, and basically kept me on time to all my events, important or not. So what makes it so great? Well, for one I've only had to change the battery once, so the 5 year claim seems pretty accurate. Its a real strap monster, looks good on almost anything. My personal preference are thin, 2 piece cotton canvas straps. Super light and comfortable. Even though it scratches fairly easily, the scrathes oxidize quickly which makes it so they don't stand out. Its also phenomenally lightweight. Seriously featherweight. My version was back when they still came standard with mineral crystals and it has a few light scratches, but its managed to avoid anything too distracting. I also really love the full-lume dial. It makes it bright enough to read in the dark even when the lume fades (which it does dim fairly quickly), there's just so much of it that it still gives enough light. I also like the legibility. At first I didn't love the overly short hands (and they are too short, and I don't understand why that hasn't been corrected over the years), but now I'm used to it which I guess shows its not a real issue. It really is a great watch, and lives up to its promises. I highly recommend.

Very satisfied with this watch. I previously bought the Steelix Eclipse but wanted a slightly smaller profile as well, and I was on a full lume kick. The dial doesn't glow as vividly as other brands, which can be an advantage in certain situations. It's still generally legible for a good few hours. The Goma rubber strap was definitely an excellent choice. It has a calming vanilla scent and has become a watch for chill evenings or mentally intensive days at work and school.

1st Week - Some Thoughts

I've only had this watch 1 week (full lume 38 mm Atlas) - here are a few thoughts.... FWIW I use watches for work, not fashion! So I value function over form. - I had some pre-order questions and it was easy to talk with someone who was able to answer all my questions - great company, keep up the good work! - The watch seem well built - I wear watches 24/7, so this has been on my wrist during work, showers, etc. No problem with any scratches or water getting in the watch. - The watch seems to lose about 1 sec/week - pretty good IMO. - The lume is fine - long lasting but about 80% reduction in intensity within an hour or so. If you depend on reading a watch in the dark get one with some form of backlighting. My biggest criticism of the watch (and the reason for only 4 stars) is that it isn't really as legible as it should be. I find myself shaking my head on this myself, but let me explain. Yes it has good contrasting colors, large numbers, decent lume, etc. So what's the problem? - I ordered the sapphire crystal which is domed and that distorts the face when glancing at it off angle. I would have preferred a flat sapphire crystal. - The numbers are TOO LARGE and the watch hands are TOO SMALL. In combination, when the minute hand is riding over a number on the face it looks to be about the same size as the hour hand. You actually have to look at it for a few seconds to process the time which is not good. If the numbers were about 35-45% smaller and the watch hands about 50-75% wider, this probably wouldn't be an issue. Again, I'm a very pragmatic person and will keep the watch (I already wore it for a week and see it can't be returned once worn), but it will be used more for occasional casual dress vs daily work/play.

Excellent watch, great value, super fast shipment, great customer service. Super light weight, watch ist still legible (white dial) in the morning (8-10 hours after charging). Great size & tough. Thank you very much. Rubber band smells good (vanilla).
